She’s been with us since the very beginning – helping to open the doors, shape the vision, and turn our hotel into the little paradise it is today. There’s no corner she doesn’t know, no task she can’t handle, and no challenge she won’t take on.
Her deep knowledge, composed overview, and unshakable dedication ensure that everything runs as smoothly as it should.
Vanessa is our multitasking queen – the reason our hotel always feels bright, alive, and filled with joy.

Benji may be quiet, but when he speaks, it’s always funny – the kind of humor that sneaks up on you and makes everyone laugh. As a trained chef and true all-rounder, he’s at his happiest in the breakfast area, whipping up mornings full of flavor and cheer.
Beyond the hotel, he’s a passionate plant-based patissier, experimenting with creative, delicious treats. Calm, steady, and unassuming, Benji quietly keeps things running smoothly while brightening the day with his perfectly timed humor.
Fun fact: he loves cats and anything pink – just like you can see in his photo.

As the eldest member of our team, she’s an absolute powerhouse: sweeping through every room, making everything shine, and ensuring every guest instantly feels at home. No speck of dust escapes her, and no laugh goes unheard.
Whether it’s a quick joke, a smart piece of advice, or simply a listening ear – Fathi is always right where she’s needed.

As Chef de Bar, she crafts drinks with creativity and flair, delighting guests with her imaginative combinations. Beyond the bar, she shines in social media projects and other creative hotel tasks, always finding ways to bring ideas to life and add a personal touch.

He may look like Santa Claus, but Steff’s story starts far from the North Pole – all the way in South Africa! Now a true Grindelwald local, he’s become part of the village’s heart and soul.
Over the years, he’s worked in all kinds of jobs around Grindelwald, bringing with him a wealth of experience, skill, and the kind of calm energy only Steff has. And while he’s full of know-how, it’s his brilliantly flat sense of humor that keeps everyone smiling – even when the jokes take a second to land.
Whether he’s lending a hand, sharing a story, or cracking one of his classic one-liners, Steff is pure good vibes and solid experience wrapped in a Santa smile.

With floppy ears, an ever-wagging tail, and eyes full of mischief and love, Pisco is more than just a dog—he’s our house hero, our four-pawed genius, and the unofficial boss of good vibes.
Whether he’s solving mysteries (by sniffing every corner), stealing the show during meetings (zoomies included), or just being his irresistibly cute self, Pisco has a knack for making everything better.
He’s not just our house dog —he’s the spirit of Bellary:

Bellary History
The Waldhuus Bellary was originally built in 1886 by Indian missionaries, who named it after the city of Bellary in India. Nearly half a century later, in 1936, the Nakajima-Schild family took over the property and made it their own. In 1984, the house underwent a major renovation, including the addition of a third floor. After four generations of family ownership, the Waldhotel Bellary was sold in 2024 to Carole and Philip Hauser, 4th generation at the Hotel Belvedere Grindelwald. Following a thoughtful repositioning, the newly envisioned “Waldhuus Bellary” reopened in summer 2025.
Inspired by the bold, free-spirited energy of the 70s, we created Waldhuus Bellary as a throwback to an era of adventure, style and unforgettable experiences. Nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps, our house blends retro aesthetics with modern comfort, bringing a fresh take on mountain stays.
